We hope you're enjoying your summer! The DYS Board has been working hard to prepare for the upcoming fall soccer season. Please take a few minutes to read through the following important updates, reminders, and opportunities—some of which are time-sensitive.

 

📅 Key Upcoming Dates

  • August 1 – Pre-K Kicker Registration Opens
  • August 1 – Last Day to Order Travel Uniforms
  • August 4–8 & 11–15 – Sal Ledda’s Summer Soccer Camp 
  • August 25 – Travel Practices Begin (Town begins at coach's discretion)
  • September 6 – Opening Day for Pre-K Kickers, Town, and Travel Programs

 

👕 Fall 2025 Travel Uniform Update

All families should have received uniform ordering instructions:

  • Returning families do not need to order unless your child has outgrown or lost their uniform.
  • New players have been assigned a uniform number—please use that number when ordering.

⏰ Reminder: The deadline to order is TODAY — August 1st!

🧒 Pre-K Kickers Registration Is Open!

Spots are filling fast!

  • The 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM sessions are FULL
  • The 11:00 AM session is still available (almost full)

👟 We Need Coaches!

Dedham Youth Soccer is seeking volunteer coaches for both the Town and Travel Programs.

Each team needs at least two coaches to help guide our players and make the season a success. No experience? No problem! We’ll provide everything you need—from training to equipment.

Coaching is a great way to:

  • Spend time with your child
  • Build lasting memories
  • Make a difference in our community

Town Soccer Program Overview

For those new to Town Soccer, here’s a quick breakdown:

  • Pre-K Kickers: 45-minute clinics on Saturdays at 9:00, 10:00, or 11:00 AM
     ➤ Please attend only the session you registered for.
  • Kindergarten (Boys & Girls): 1 practice/week, games on Saturday mornings (8:30 AM–Noon)
  • 1st Grade (Boys & Girls): 1–2 practices/week, games on Saturday mornings (8:30 AM–Noon)
  • 2nd/ 3rd Grade (Boys & Girls): 2 practices/week, games on Saturday mornings (8:30 AM–Noon)

🕓 Practice times are still being finalized.
 We’re currently assigning coaches, forming teams, and awaiting field permits. Your child’s coach will reach out with practice and game schedules.
 

Travel Soccer Overview

  • All travel teams practice twice per week
  • Games are on Saturdays:
    • Girls: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
    • Boys: 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Town Referee Program

Are you a DYS player entering grades 6–8 interested in being a town referee? Please attend a training session. You must attend with one parent/ guardian. 

📍 Location: Rustcraft Field
 🕔 Time: 5:00–5:30 PM
 📆 Choose one session:

  • Wednesday, August 20
  • Tuesday, August 26

⚠️ Attendance is mandatory to referee this fall—even if you’ve attended in the past.

Travel Referee Program (Age 14+)

Are you 14 or older and ready to become a travel referee?

Dedham needs more travel refs—and you earn more per game! To ref this fall, you’ll need to complete certification over the summer.

Steps to Certify:

  1. Parent registers child for the New Referee Orientation on massref.net
  2. Sign up for one of the online learning modules
  3. Register for an in-person field session (they fill up quickly!)
  4. Complete the “Introduction to Healthy and Safe Environments” course on the U.S. Soccer Learning Center
  5. Pass the 50-question multiple choice test (retake as needed)
  6. Pay the $115 registration fee (DYS will reimburse after 5 games are worked)
