Become a Travel Referee – Dedham Needs You!
If you are 14 years or older and interested in advancing your referee career, consider becoming a travel referee. Dedham needs more referees, and travel games offer higher pay and valuable field experience.
Steps to Get Certified
Register for the New Referee Orientation Course
Parents must register their child on the Mass State Referee Committee website. (massref.net)
- Complete the Online Modules
Choose from the available Zoom classes. - Attend an In-Person Field Session
These fill up quickly—register early. - Take the Healthy & Safe Environments Course
Available through the U.S. Soccer Learning Center. - Pass the Certification Test
A 50-question online multiple-choice test (retakes allowed). - Pay the Certification Fee – $115
DYS will reimburse this fee after your child works five DYS games.

DYS Board Opportunities
Are you interested in making a difference in the DYS community? The DYS Board is looking for passionate volunteers to help support and grow our programs. We are currently seeking:
Director of Town Program
This Board-appointed position is responsible for organizing and administering all boys’ and girls’ town teams in accordance with DYS policies and Board direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and administer boys’ and girls’ town teams following the Board-adopted Team Formation Policy
- Recruit qualified coaches for town teams
- Assist with player registration and uniform distribution
- Draft teams in accordance with the Team Formation Policy
- Oversee scheduling of Board supervisors for Saturday game days
- Maintain complete records for all town teams, coaches, and players in coordination with the Registrar
Community Engagement Committee LEAD (Includes Concessions and Swag)
This committee helps strengthen our soccer community by planning special events, managing concessions, building partnerships, and creating memorable experiences for DYS families.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and lead community events such as DYS Nights at DHS and Revolution games, season celebrations, awards ceremonies, and family tournaments
- Develop partnerships with local colleges, professional teams, and Dedham High School to create youth connections and guest appearance opportunities
- Oversee concession stand operations including staffing, inventory, and revenue deposits
- Create initiatives that increase family involvement and welcome new families
- Coordinate volunteer appreciation and identify community service opportunities
- Collaborate with the Media/Communications Director to promote events and report participation, metrics, and revenue to the Board
- Manage the DYS swag marketplace

The New England Revolution are opening their Training Center to Youth Soccer Partners, along with family and friends, on Monday, December 29 from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Join us for a behind-the-scenes tour of the New England Revolution Training Center, including access to the facility, practice fields, and the Revs locker room. Located on 68 acres of wetlands behind Gillette Stadium, this world-class complex features a 30,000-square-foot headquarters and three natural-grass fields. The Training Center is home to the Revolution MLS team, Revolution II, the Revolution Academy, technical staff, and front office.
