BAYS Respect Campaign

BAYS is launching the RESPECT Campaign this Spring. We ask that all in the BAYS community join together to help us make the youth soccer experience the best it can be for all of our players, coaches, referees, clubs, parents, and fans.

The philosophy of BAYS is to provide an atmosphere of good sportsmanship to encourage all to compete, learn, and enjoy the game of soccer. Unfortunately, we are seeing more incidents of racially-charged, offensive, hurtful, and inappropriate language/actions than in the past. We have observed an increase in the overall level of hostility and disrespect during some BAYS games in recent seasons. This is concerning.

We hope that by emphasizing RESPECT, we can improve the game environment by removing disrespectful and discriminatory language, boost the FUN quotient for the kids and all involved, and return to playing “The Beautiful Game."

Here is the link to the entire REPECT Campagin on the BAYS website under Current Season. In order for this campagin to be successfull everyone needs to actively be involved. On the BAYS wesite we have outlined the RESPECT Campaign asks for:

  • Clubs
  • Coaches
  • Parents / Gaurdians
  • Players
  • Refrees

Pleare review the expectations of this campaign with your coaches, players, parents / gaurdians, and referees. Together we can ensure a postive, safe, and FUN environment for our players, coaches, referees, clubs, parents, and fans. The reading of the RESPECT statement prior to all BAYS games should assit in helping set the stage for each match. Thank you in advance for spreading the RESPECT Campagin message and expectations.

Have a great weekend and see you on the pitch in a few weeks.

 Dedham on 3…!

A Note From DYS' President

Dear Families, Coaches, and Friends,

My name is Paul Yandrisevits and I was recently elected and am honored to serve as the Dedham Youth Soccer (DYS) President again in 2022 after taking a year away.  I have been on the DYS board for 6 years and I was previously the president from 2018 thru 2020.  It is with great excitement that I have the opportunity to help guide this great organization once again. I wanted to introduce myself to everyone and give my personal thanks and sincere appreciation to our all-volunteer, Rock Star- DYS board this past year.  In addition, congratulations are in order for the newly elected board members in the last few months, Steve Berardinelli, Michelle Cormier, Chris Taffe, Lou Mancinelli. They will help make the organization even more of a success.

My hope for the year is that you, as parents and family members, gain as much value in the program as we do.  DYS is committed to the objectives set forth “to provide the youth of Dedham, MA the opportunity to participate in recreational and competitive soccer leagues by teaching and demonstrating soccer skills, sportsmanship, respect, and fair play. To provide a safe environment where our youth not only can excel in their soccer skills but also learn the importance of physical fitness, teamwork, determination, persistence, and hard work”.

There is no better time to get involved with the DYS community and connect with other families in our great town.  Take advantage of volunteer opportunities that arise or by coaching a team.  We have several new initiatives with the development of our coaches, and players that will be implemented in the coming season.  Our committees are planning new professional training sessions, fun team events, and family gatherings.  I am truly excited for what is in store for 2022. If you would like to help, let me know.
